I am a dedicated, hard-working and driven clinician and administrator who is passionate about supporting RACMA to continue as an internationally recognised and highly regarded institution for supporting the specialty of Medical Administration, it’s member development, training and representation. As an Associate Fellow I want to recognise those who have embarked on a career, wholly or partly, in Medical Administration through the associate pathway, whether you are experienced with dual clinical and administrator roles or starting out as a leader in your area. I have worked across varied domains in Medical Administration, as unit director, medical educator, DCT, DMS, EDMS and feel I have an understanding of those Members who I commit to recognise and advocate. Having worked across a number of states and in roles across the public and private sector I feel appropriately placed to be considered for this Board appointment and thank you for your kind consideration.
Professional Qualifications
I graduated medicine in 2013 and obtained my MBBS from Bond University in Queensland. Following this I undertook a number of professional certificates in varying areas of interest which ultimately led me to enrol in General Practice training and complete my FRACGP in Adelaide. I worked in Adelaide as a medical educator and GP before taking on varied roles in medical administration across public, private, hospital and community sectors. I completed my AFRACMA Leadership for Clinicians and have maintained membership of the college throughout roles as medical educator, DCT, DMS, EDMS, CMIO and now deputy CEO. Through this time I have taken on further professional development opportunities to complete a Certificate in Health Informatics and a Harvard Executive course in Leading Digital Transformation in Health Care.
Previous Governance Experience / Board Appointments
I have sat on a number of advisory councils which report through to support board function from my early training medical officer days, including South Australia state representative for General Practice Registrars Australia. I have acted as a board member for not-for-profit Australian Society of General Practice and am committed to completing higher learning offered through organisations such as Institute of Company Directors to support my professional growth. I am a member of the state-wide accreditation committee for Prevocational Medical Accreditation Queensland and have acted as lead assessor in the review and assessment of Hospital and Health Services. My executive governance experience includes sitting on various Executive Committees for a large size Tertiary Hospital including senior executive level strategy, finance and operations. I sit on the Central Credentialing Committee for Ramsay Australia, responsible for over 15,000 Accredited Practitioners. I act as member on steering committees focused on the implementation of developing transformation opportunities for a complex multi-state healthcare provider with over 70 sites and 30,000 employees.
