RACMA accreditation of training posts refers to the formal process and recognition that a healthcare organisation meets the specific standards and criteria for training Candidates in the Fellowship Training Program. These standards and criteria are essential for ensuring that Candidates in training gain the support, skills, knowledge, and experiences to meet the requirements of the RACMA Fellowship Training Program.
Providing a supportive training environment for Candidates in the RACMA Fellowship Training Program is a shared responsibility of the College, Training Supervisors, Line Managers and health settings (training posts).
RACMA Accreditation Standards and Accreditation Policy ensure quality, safety and consistency in Candidate training across various jurisdictions, health settings, and training posts.
Candidates must be in a RACMA-accredited Training Post to be eligible for their time in supervised practice to be credited.
Training Posts are assessed against the RACMA Accreditation Standards to ensure they can support Candidates on their training journey to complete the Fellowship Training Program.
Assessment of training posts includes consideration of:
- workplace supervision
- training opportunities and experiences
- capacity to complete FTP Workplace Based Assessments (for Training Posts with Candidates who commenced from 2025)
- leadership and organisational infrastructure
