In line with RACMA’s new strategic direction and the Board’s decision to update the Conference Governance framework and plenary program, we have undertaken a thoughtful restructuring of the Conference Committee composition.
The Board has introduced a consistent framework to ensure the Conference provides a platform for proper knowledge exchange, education, professional development, and advancing research and innovation.
To that end, the Committee will now remain consistent over a three-year term to ensure continuity and alignment with RACMA’s strategic goals. Historically it has been a rolling committee each year made up of representatives of immediate past host jurisdiction Members and immediate future host jurisdiction Members.
Moving forward the Committee will be comprised of the following.
- A Chair who is a Board Director
- A Member from the Host Jurisdiction (Fellow, Associate Fellow or Candidate) – this appointment will be made 12-18 months prior to the scheduled conference dates in that jurisdiction and will cease after completion of the Conference held in their jurisdiction.
- 3 Fellows
- 3 Associate Fellows
- 3 Candidates
- A staff member
- President of the College (ex-officio)
- The Committee or the Chair may co-opt up to two members as appropriate
In order not to lose all institutional knowledge as we transition to the new committee structure, the three Fellow positions have been filled by three Members from the immediate past committee.
We are also very pleased to announce the Chair position has been filled by Board Director Dr Hash Abdeen and Dr Francis Lee has been nominated the lead Member from the 2025 host jurisdiction of Western Australia.
We are now seeking expressions of interest from three Candidates and three Associate Fellows (AFRACMA) to fill the remaining six positions on the Conference Committee.
