RACMA is proud of its wealth of diversity among its Members. We are committed to growing and enhancing cultural competency across the College to improve our ability to provide inclusive Medical Leadership across the whole health system.
As a strong advocate of diversity and respect across all healthcare systems, the College established the Diversity and Inclusion Working Group (DIWG) to drive this important agenda forward.
In supporting Harmony Week 2022, which celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity, the College acknowledges the importance of inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background. RACMA also opposes discrimination in all its forms and recognises the long-term benefits of diverse representation across our organisation and the health system as a whole.
Through its Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Position Statement, the College is focused on advancing diversity, inclusion and equity through the following core values:
- Creating an inclusive culture within the College
- Achieving equity in Medical Leadership
- Advancing equitable access in healthcare
The message of respect and belonging goes beyond the weeklong celebration. It can be lived by each of us, every day. The College encourages its Members to lead by example and instil a culture of diversity and equality across all levels in the workplace.
We have a responsibility as Medical Leaders to ensure the demographic of the workforce can become more reflective of the community, positively impacting the delivery of healthcare into the future. For more information visit https://www.harmony.gov.au/
