Overview
RACMA is governed by a Board which formed a number of committees to facilitate representation of members, support the Board and contribute to the operation of the College.
The diagram below provides an overview of the various committees.
Participation in the Governance of the College
Any Member in good standing with the College can nominate to vacancies in the Board, committees and subcommittees.
Current vacancies are advertised in the College fortnightly newsletter, MedLeaders Pulse. You can also email info@racma.edu.au.
Board
Visit the Board Elections page for more information on election of members and appointment of non-members to Board Positions.
Jurisdictional Committees
The College comprises eight jurisdictions, and each has a committee that is responsible for the implementation of College policies and the administration of College affairs in that jurisdiction.
Jurisdictional Committees hold elections to determine the Fellow, Associate Fellow and Candidate representatives in each jurisdiction. Jurisdictional Committees hold an Expression of Interest process to appoint Jurisdictional Coordinators of Training, Continuing Professional Development Coordinators, and any other jurisdictional Committee membership roles
Visit the Jurisdictional Committee members page to find out who your representatives are.
Refer to the Jurisdictional Committee Terms of Reference and College Position Descriptions for more information.
Other committees
The Committee Charter outlines the process for the recruitment, selection and appointment of members and Chairs of committees and subcommittees other than Jurisdictional Committees.
The Board appoints the Chair of the Education and Training Committee, the Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee, the Chair of the Policy and Advocacy Committee and the Chair of the Governance Committee from the Board Directors.
The Board appoints the Censor-in-Chief and the Chair of the Continuing Education Program Committee through an Expression of Interest process open to Fellows of the College.
The committees are otherwise responsible for selecting applicants from an Expression of Interest process, for appointment by the approving body.
Each committee’s Terms of Reference details its objectives, responsibilities, composition and frequency of meetings.
Visit the Committee Chairs page for a list of current chairs.
Special Interest Groups
The aim of the SIGs is to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing and community within the specific areas of interest across Medical Administration and Leadership. The RACMA SIGs will bring like-minded individuals together to learn, network, promote professional development and drive change for the College.
Membership is open to all RACMA Members. Each SIG will have up to two SIG Leads, who must be either a RACMA Fellow or Associate Fellow, and who will act as the coordinator(s) for events and initiatives, communications and the representative to any College committee.
The membership fee for all SIGs is $90 AUD for FRACMA, AFRACMA and Affiliate Members, and $45 AUD for Candidates (on top of the RACMA membership subscription fee for the Member’s relevant membership category). The fee is in place to assist with administrative support of the SIGs. For more information, read the Terms of Reference
