RACMA takes pride in the diversity among its members and is dedicated to improving cultural competency across the College for inclusive Medical Leadership throughout the healthcare system.
To support Harmony Week 2023, which celebrates cultural diversity in Australia, the College recognizes the significance of inclusivity, respect, and belonging for all of us, irrespective of cultural or linguistic background. RACMA opposes all forms of discrimination and acknowledges the long-term benefits of diverse representation across the organization and the healthcare system as a whole.
To achieve diversity, inclusion, and equity, RACMA established a Diversity and Inclusion Policy and Advocacy Committee, which works to advance these core values:
• Creating an inclusive culture within the College
• Achieving equity in Medical Leadership
• Advancing equitable access in healthcare
The message of respect and belonging goes beyond the weeklong celebration and can be practiced by everyone every day. The College encourages its members to lead by example and foster a culture of diversity and equality in the workplace to ensure all voices are heard.
As Medical Leaders, it is our responsibility to ensure that the workforce’s demographic becomes more reflective of the community, which can positively impact healthcare delivery in the future.
Have a happy Harmony Week!
