Dr Catherine Olweny is a full-time Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne where she has worked for 15 years. As Chair of the Society for Paediatric Anaesthesia in New Zealand and Australia (SPANZA) Guidelines Committee, she supports the provision of safe, high quality care for children through the production of trustworthy guidance documents. Catherine has a Master of Arts, a Master of Counselling and is trained in Clinical Hypnosis. She practices as a registered counsellor, providing supportive counselling to paediatric patients as well as senior medical staff, doctors in training and medical students. Catherine has special interests in Trauma Informed Systems for healthcare delivery and wellness-centred leadership in healthcare.

Catherine became and Associate Fellow in 2023.
