About the Role

The Director of Medical Services (DMS) is accountable for leading, directing, implementing, planning and evaluating the delivery of medical services in partnership with Clinical Directors across all departments at Cairns Hospital and across CHHHS as required, to the highest clinical, professional and ethical standards.

About You

We are looking for a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (Director of Medical Services) to apply expert knowledge of contemporary strategic and operational frameworks, models, and processes to drive and implement incremental and transformational change, leading to positive quality improvement and service outcomes.

It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment (Health Employment Directive No. 01/16):

  • measles, mumps, rubella (MMR)
  • varicella (chicken pox)
  • pertussis (whooping cough)
  • hepatitis B
  • tuberculosis
