Applying for the Program

Applications for the Fellowship Training Program (FTP) for entry to training in 2026 are now open.

Eligibility Requirements

Before completing an application, review the Entry To Training Policy and determine you meet all of the eligibility criteria.

Key Dates and Information

Entry to training applications for the FTP will be accepted during the dates listed in the table below. Information about fees including for applications, training and membership can be found here. Please note that applications submitted during Application Period 2 will incur a 25% surcharge according to the Entry To Training Policy.

* Applications during Period 2b (non-standard, restricted) will only be considered if an offer of employment letter which is dated between Monday 17 November 2025 and Friday 30 January 2026 (irrespective of position starting date) is provided.

§ Applicants who provide an offer of employment letter for a registrar role which is dated from Tuesday 16 September with their application (irrespective of the starting date of the position) will have the Application Period 2 surcharge waived.

# For training to commence during the anticipated date range, all eligibility criteria must be met including that the applicant is in a RACMA Accredited Training Post or a Training Post that has been granted provisional accreditation. Delays to the anticipated training commencement date may be experienced if an entry to training application (including referee reports) is incomplete and/or the Training Post requires additional support during the accreditation process.

Submission of Application

Applicants are required to complete all sections of the 2026 RACMA Fellowship Training Program Application Form for submission with the following supporting documents:

  • a copy of your primary medical qualification
  • a copy of your current medical registration
  • evidence of having completed a minimum of 3 years full time equivalent clinical experience involving direct patient care
  • a copy of your letter of appointment to your proposed Training Post
  • a copy of your Curriculum Vitae that contains at least the information shown in the template.
  • the name and contact details of at least 3 referees

Please clearly name the file of each supporting document with‘[Last name_Document name]

The completed 2026 RACMA Fellowship Training Program Application Form with all supporting documents should be emailed to ftpapplications@racma.edu.au by the closing date described in the table above.

Applications for Recognition of Prior Learning and Experience (RPLE) must be received by RACMA no later than 14 days after submitting a 2026 RACMA Fellowship Training Program Application Form.
