RACMA is proud to release its Annual Report for 2025, marking the foundational year of our Strategic Plan ‘Leading Future Health’ and our new strapline ‘Transforming Health Leadership’.
The report captures a year of significant achievement across all four strategic priorities – Reimagining, Influencing, Educating and Transforming – positioning RACMA as the connector that transforms health leadership across Australasia.
Major Milestones
This year saw the launch of MyRACMA in February 2025, representing the College’s largest technology investment in years and delivering enhanced member services through single sign-on access, automated workflows and improved security.
RACMA achieved a historic milestone with its first-ever Federal Budget submission, establishing the College as a recognised voice at the highest levels of government on issues including medical leadership investment, workplace culture and safety, rural workforce sustainability, and leadership-driven reforms in digital health, AI and climate sustainability.
The renewed Fellowship Training Program launched on 3 February 2025, delivering a contemporary, outcomes-focused model aligned with best practice in specialist medical education. The program welcomed 51 new Candidates with enhanced curriculum learning outcomes, mandatory Workplace-Based Assessments and structured Foundation and Advanced phases.
Strategic Impact
The successful completion of the Commonwealth-funded ‘A Better Culture’ project positioned culture transformation as a critical national priority, with presentations reaching Chief Medical Officers, Ahpra, the Medical Workforce Advisory Committee and international forums.
Ten Special Interest Groups were established, connecting 81 Members around shared challenges and creating professional networks across jurisdictions and specialties. The College’s policy work expanded through major position statements, with five new statements developed during the year establishing RACMA’s system-level leadership role.
Partnerships and Growth
Strategic partnerships delivered exceptional member value, including collaborations with the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the Australian Institute of Digital Health, Australasian College of Health Service Management and many other organisations across the health sector.
Membership grew to 1,668, reflecting the value Members see in RACMA’s evolution. Education programs expanded significantly, with the Leadership for Clinicians Program increasing from 10 to 12 cohorts and the Management for Clinicians Program doubling from three to six cohorts.
The annual conference in Brisbane attracted 576 registrations (450 onsite, 126 online) – the highest attendance in seven years.
Looking Forward
“Serving as President during this foundational year has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my professional life,” said RACMA President Professor Erwin Loh.
“The results of this collective effort truly encapsulate our new brand story ‘Better Together’.”
Chief Executive Cris Massis noted: “Our team demonstrated exceptional capability in delivering multiple major initiatives simultaneously while maintaining high standards of member services. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together and look forward to building on these strong foundations.”
