The College was founded in 1967 as the Australian College of Medical Administrators and attained its Royal prefix in 1979. In August 1998, when links with New Zealand were formally established, the College changed its name to The Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators. RACMA is a specialist medical college that provides education, training, knowledge, and advice in medical management. Recognised by the Australian and New Zealand Medical Councils, it delivers programs to medical managers and other medical practitioners who are training for or occupying specialist leadership or administration positions.
