STP funding for private positions is currently set at $135,000, consisting of:
- $105,000 for candidate salary support, and
- Private Infrastructure and Clinical Supervision (PICS) allowance of up to $30,000 for eligible clinical supervision and private infrastructure expenses
All amounts are per FTE per annum, and exclude GST.
Private Infrastructure and Clinical Supervision (PICS)
The aim of the PICS Allowance is to support delivery of the Specialist Training Program (STP) in private sector settings.
Private training settings are able to use the allowance flexibly for either:
- Infrastructure support for resources such as training room outfitting, minor renovation of existing facilities, videoconferencing, online educational software, and office /IT setup equipment. Note: The infrastructure allowance is attached to the training site, not the trainee or the supervisor, and will be linked to a specific STP training position.
- Supervision support which is intended to ensure settings provide appropriate supervision of their STP trainees/registrars in accordance with the accreditation standards set by RACMA. This allowance is linked to the specific STP training position.
