Private Infrastructure Clinical Supervision (PICS) – support for health settings

The aim of the PICS Allowance is to support delivery of the STP in private sector settings.

Private STP settings may claim PICS funding for eligible expenses of up to $30,000 (GST exclusive) per 1 FTE, per annum. Training settings can use the allowance flexibly for either infrastructure or supervision costs.

PLEASE NOTE: PICS is attached to the STP funded training position, not the Candidate or Supervisor.

How PICS can be used

Eligible infrastructure expenses include:

While some private STP settings may elect to use their PICS allowance predominantly for supervision costs, they may also claim for infrastructure resources which provide for, or enhance, the training experience delivered by the STP training position.

How to claim

PICS Claim Forms are submitted by the health setting twice annually and are paid in arrears. Please speak to your health setting regarding any infrastructure expenses that you believe the setting may wish to claim in future. Please note that the training setting must advise RACMA about how it intends to spend the infrastructure allowance and must then confirm that each infrastructure project has been completed.
