The 2017-2018 RACMA CPD handbook outlines the requirements for our members; it supports the elements of self-reflection, professional development, peer review, audit and continuous medical education.

As changes are made by RACMA, MBA and MCNZ, this handbook will be updated. Please consider the handbook as a living document and any changes made will be noted via version control. The current 2017-2018 is version 1.0. Should any significant changes occur to the CPD requirements of RACMA members, communications will be sent via email and notifications will be published on the RACMA website and LinkedIn.

At present there are differing CPD requirements between Australian and New Zealand members. A summary of mandatory and optional CPD activities are as follows:

AUSTRALIA

Fellows are required to achieve a minimum of 50 CPD hours and Associate Fellows a minimum of 25 CPD hours as follows:

  • Mandatory – Professional Development Plan – 10 hours
  • Mandatory – Continuing Medical Education
  • Optional – Audit / Peer Review however if completed will attract 10 hours per activity.

NEW ZEALAND

Fellows are required to achieve a minimum of 50 CPD hours and Associate Fellows a minimum of 25 CPD hours as follows:

  • Mandatory - Professional development plan – 10 hours
  • Mandatory - Minimum of one audit per annum – 10 hours
  • Mandatory - Peer review activities - minimum of 10 hours per annum
  • Mandatory - Continuing Medical Education – minimum of 20 hours per annum
