About the role

Reporting to the Public Health Incident Controller, COVID-19 Incident Management Team (IMT) you will:

Provide high level public health medical advice and support for the strategic and operational response to COVID-19

Work as a part of the multi-disciplinary incident management team, providing medical leadership, advice and support to the epidemiology, operational and planning teams.

Provide and/or review public health medical advice to be released to other areas and approve the release of any public health medical content in information to be released from the team.

About you

You will have:

  1. Medical Practitioner registration or be able to obtain registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  2. Demonstrated experience and knowledge in public health as it relates to communicable diseases
  3. Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  4. High-level negotiation, consultative communication and interpersonal skills
  5. This position may be required to undertake shifts in an extended span of ordinary hours to meet clinical need – this may include travel and working rostered on-call and after-hour arrangements.
  6. Candidates with post graduate qualifications in public health or infectious diseases will be regarded as highly desirable.
