Silverchain seeks to appoint a high calibre medical professional to the role of Medical Director, Care Governance and Risk. The Medical Director will provide contemporary leadership and medical governance advice across the group to support the achievement of the current strategy (Strategy 2030). The Medical Director will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives as a strategic advisor and ensure effective clarity of focus on clinical quality and safety, informing policies and procedures for the delivery of high quality, safe and sustainable health and aged care services.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Care Governance and Risk, the Medical Director will play a critical role as a senior clinical leader, ensuring the highest standards of medical practice across the organisation, through the development of standardised medical service delivery models. Actively supporting the implementation and achievement of organisation-wide performance improvement programs in line with Silverchain’s ‘Best Care’ approach, the Medical Director will also contribute to a culture of safety, high performance and best practice outcomes. Working in close partnership with Medical Leads and State Executive Directors, the Medical Director will provide advice on NSQHS and Aged Care Quality and Safety standards, ensure compliance, support accreditation and advise on matters of clinical risk. As a strategic advisor, the Medical Director will understand the trends and opportunities across the health landscape, including sector reforms, new technology, virtual health, integrated care and new service models to strategically support the delivery of high quality and safe services.
About You
The successful candidate will be a highly credible clinical leader with demonstrated experience in the delivery of excellence across national medical governance, quality and safety standards, quality management systems and within legislative and contractual frameworks and agreements. Experience within aged care, home care or community-based services will be highly regarded, as will a proven ability to influence and negotiate solutions with state and national health departments, and medical bodies. A demonstrated ability to drive new and innovative models of care and foster a collaborative high performing culture underpinned by continuous improvement will be key to success.
Requirements
- It will be a requirement to hold a relevant medical qualification within the profession and unconditional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
