Royal Perth Hospital (RPH) is Perth’s inner city, tertiary adult hospital and part of the Royal Perth Bentley Group. Home to the State Major Adult Trauma Service, RPH offers tertiary-level emergency medicine, mental health, complex and elective surgical care, and specialist medical services. Bentley Health Service (BHS) is a specialist hospital located 11km from the Perth CBD and forms part of the Royal Perth Bentley Group. BHS provides quality healthcare to the community, specialising in the delivery of mental health care, aged care services, obstetrics, elective surgical services and rehabilitation.
The Medical Co-Director works in partnership with the Service Co-Director to provide effective leadership, governance, strategic planning and operational management of the Service 3 stream. Supports all staff within the Service to provide high-quality and efficient patient care consistent with the hospital group’s safety, quality and performance frameworks. As part of the Executive team the position provides clinical and corporate governance within the Royal Perth Bentley Group (RPBG).
1. The Medical Co-Director will be an eminent clinician with a track record in professional
leadership and will be registered by the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty.
2. The Medical Co-Director will be able to evidence business acumen with a strong track
-Personal integrity and self-awareness including demonstrated public service professionalism and probity, ability to engage with risk, demonstrated resilience and self-awareness; and commitment to personal development.
-Shaping and managing strategy including the ability to focus strategically by aligning business imperatives with strategic priorities, the ability to harness information and opportunities in order to manage change, the capacity to champion organizational vision and goals and promote a shared commitment to the organizations strategic direction.

-Building productive relationships including the ability to broker cooperation and partnerships across an organization and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and with diverse groups of people within the health sector.
-Management of clinical services in a large complex acute health care including balancing of diverse and competing interests and the achievement of high quality patient outcomes, service satisfaction and operational efficiency.
3. Current knowledge of legislative obligations for Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and
Occupational Safety and Health, and how these impact on employment and service delivery.
