About the Role
This position is being offered on a temporary full time or part time basis for a minimum of twelve months with opportunity for extension.
The Position
- Contribute to decision-making on issues with health service impact
- Lead, support, promote and manage organizational change and the effective delivery of all clinical services
- Provide advice on medical issues and standards of clinical practice across the organization. Actively promote, guide and facilitate high standards of medical practice and related professional services within SJGHC. Develop and implement policies and procedures and appropriate credentialing processes. Evaluate performance in relation to clinical standards and patient care.
- Participate in training activities at SJGHMPPH, SJGHC Group Services and other Divisional sites as relevant to experience medical administration issues at head office and Divisional levels
- Work closely with the Director of Medical Services and Medical Administration unit to provide day to day medical administrative services as needed
- Manage or take an active role in appropriate projects of benefit to SJGHC as agreed by the supervisor and registrar
- Involvement in budget planning, finance modelling and discussion around operational finance activities such as activity and cost centre management
- Attend and contribute to relevant internal committee meetings e.g. Divisional Management Committee, Clinical Risk and Quality, Specialist “Craft Groups” (includes Mortality Review) & Credentialing
- Liaise with internal and external healthcare professionals as required when managing projects.
- A satisfactory progression towards the Fellowship of Royal Australian College of Medical Administrators.
- Active involvement in relevant education and training activities within the health service, state and nationally
About you
You will have a minimum of 3 years clinical experience in a range of medical, surgical and acute care disciplines and be able to demonstrate highly developed interpersonal communication and negotiation skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
