About the Role

In this pivotal and influential role, you will be responsible for ensuring clinical governance for the delivery of safe, high quality medical care across the Limestone Coast Local Health Network (LCLHN). You will provide mentorship and leadership to the Manager of Quality Risk and Safety to facilitate and support the functions of the Quality Risk and Safety Team. You will also oversee and coordinate medical staff and medical service contracts in the LCLHN, including the recruitment and orientation of new Medical Officers and locums.

A key objective will be assisting the regional medical workforce to achieve and maintain competencies required by the specialist colleges, South Australian Medical Education and Training, and the Medical Board of Australia. You will ensure that all Medical Officers are appropriately credentialed in accordance with SA Health Credentialing Policy, and maintain effective communication between resident and visiting medical officers and Specialists, Salaried Medical Officers, General Practitioners, SA Ambulance, SA Retrieval Service, Rural and Remote Mental Health Service and other clinical services. You will ensure medical staff are actively engaged in local, regional and network-wide learning culture and clinical governance activities across teaching, research and quality improvement areas.

About You

You will hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, along with appropriate specialist qualifications (FRACMA), and be registered with the Medical Board of Australia.

You will demonstrate a proven track record of experience in providing leadership to a complex multidisciplinary organisation in a climate of continuing change, increasing effectiveness and accountability of an organisation and its programs.

Along with strategic foresight and ability to think at a system-wide level, you will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to engage, motivate, build trust and inspire others to achieve objectives.
