Executive Director Medical Services – Full Time Permanent Position Available – Reference #2433

Applications are invited for the position of Executive Director Medical Services at Northeast Health Wangaratta. This position is a full time position and will provide medical administration services to NHW and as well as partner with small nearby small Rural Health Services.

Northeast Health Wangaratta is the major regional health service and specialist referral centre for north east Victoria. It serves a population of approximately 90,000 and has over 18,000 inpatient episodes and approximately 25,000 Emergency Department attendances a year.

NHW has strong collaborative relationships with its nearby Small Rural Health Services and provides a range of clinical governance services to the central Hume sub region. In the next two years NHW will undergo a $22M re-development providing an expanded ED, CCU and inpatient bed capacity.

The University of Melbourne’s Rural Clinical School has a node located in Wangaratta with medical students completing their clinical studies at NHW and additional medical students rotate from Melbourne teaching hospitals.

You must be registered as a specialist Medical Administrator by the Medical Board of Australia and have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administration and appropriate experience.

Primary purpose of the role

The Executive Director Medical Services (EDMS) is responsible for managing the day to day operation of medical services at NHW in order to deliver high quality patient/client care while ensuring the achievement of established performance criteria for efficiency, cost and safety.
