Where you’ll be working

The Rural and Regional Health Service is made up of four rural sectors within Hunter New England Local Health District being Mehi, Peel, Tablelands and Hunter Valley. The facilities included in R&RHS portfolio consist of Tamworth, and Armidale Rural Referral Hospitals, 10 community hospitals, and 12 Multi Purpose Services. The office of R&RHS is located in Tamworth.

About the Role

The Director of Medical Services Rural and Regional Health Services is responsible for the provision of expert professional leadership of Medical Services and Medical Workforce for Tamworth and Armidale Rural Referral Hospitals

As a member of the Rural and Regional Health Service Executive, the Director of Medical Workforce contributes to the overall leadership and management of Tamworth and Armidale Hospitals and the wider R&RHS setting to ensure patients experience the best possible care, safely and compassionately, whilst enabling staff to work in a safe, healthy and culturally sensitive environment.

About You

  • You have demonstrated experience in leadership and management of medical workforce matters and the proven ability to function as part of a results oriented senior leadership and management team.
  • You thrive when collaborating with other professionals in the leadership and management of health care services in a manner that reflects Excellence and the values of the NSW Health Service
  • Your communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills are exceptional
  • You have a sound understanding of the medical workforce issues that may impact large Rural Referral Hospitals and an ability to develop appropriate strategies to address
