As Director Medical Services, your main responsibilities will be to provide strong clinical and medical leadership, expertise and advice to ensure high quality medical care is delivered across the Epworth Continuing Care and Support Services Division (Rehabilitation, Mental Health, Epworth At Home and Support Services), whilst ensuring effective clinical governance and compliance with legal and regulatory obligations. A pivotal role in shaping medical workforce strategy, you will ensure that patient experiences are enhanced, and the facilitation of development and innovation is an ongoing focus as part of your role.
You will make an impact by:
- Leading clinical governance and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.
- Overseeing and supporting Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs), employed doctors, and doctors in training.
- Driving continuous improvement in patient safety, quality, and experience.
- Collaborating on business development, service planning, and strategic initiatives.
- Representing Epworth Continuing Care and Support Services internally and externally, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Championing a culture of excellence, safety, and compassionate care.
To be successful in this role…
- MBBS – Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Sound knowledge of the health industry and experience of medical and clinical service delivery in Australian healthcare, both private and public
- Highly developed clinical governance skills, including medical credentialing and root cause analysis
- Ability to work autonomously, possess excellent conceptual and organisational skills, and utilise objective analysis of multiple viewpoints to incorporate staff input, feedback and ideas
- Demonstrates leadership initiative, motivation and self-confidence with the capacity to communicate vision and set clear strategic directions for staff
- Supports Epworth’s Vision and Values and demonstrates a commitment to customer service and capacity to lead the implementation of quality solutions
