Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service (Darling Downs Health) provides public hospital and healthcare services to nearly 300,000 people from 28 facilities, which includes one large regional referral hospital, one extended inpatient mental health service, three medium sized regional hub hospitals, eleven rural hospitals, four multipurpose health services, one community outpatient clinics and six residential aged care facilities

About the Role

As the Director Medical Services, you will lead a medical team to deliver quality medical services to our patients and clients at Toowoomba Hospital. You will drive and create a positive workplace culture through respectful communication, expertly balancing the needs of staff and service delivery outcomes. You will receive a competitive remuneration package value from $345,373 (L18) up to $423,122 (L27) comprising salary rates between $100.78 (L18) and $127.77 p.h. (L27), motor vehicle allowance, professional development allowance, professional development leave 3.6 weeks p.a., regional attraction allowance, professional indemnity cover and private practice arrangements. Superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) will be applied additionally to the total remuneration value.

• Demonstrated clinical and technical expertise with appropriate knowledge, skills and ability to deliver quality medical administration.
• Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills and ability to work with and lead other staff. High level of oral and written skills and the ability to work and liaise with other health professionals.
• Demonstrated commitment to principles of quality improvement, patient safety and clinical governance.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience of, and commitment to, education and research including a demonstrated personal commitment to continuing medical education.
• Sound knowledge at a strategic level of human resource management issues, and how they impinge on contemporary hospital medical practices
