The role
This position is responsible for supporting the CMO in the overall delivery of high quality and safe clinical care through an appropriately skilled workforce. Key roles include the operational management and oversight of the following services:
This role also works collaboratively with the CMO across other services within the overall CMO portfolio as required, including:
The incumbent is also expected to support and assist the Medical Administration Registrar in developing the core competencies expected and deputise for the CMO as required.
The DMS also partners with the Clinical Directors, as well as Unit Heads to provide leadership to the medical workforce, proactively manage doctors’ professional issues, and facilitate medical staff participation in the organisation’s medicolegal, quality and safety, service improvement and development, education and training, and research activities.
There is the opportunity to maintain some clinical work if desired.
