Director Medical Services

Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) is committed to the provision and delivery of world class healthcare. The purpose of this role is to: Deliver effective executive medical leadership, coordination, strategy and direction across RBWH to support and optimise the provision of quality health care and continuously improve clinical and business outcomes. Foster and managing important industrial and professional relationships between RBWH and the medical professional workforce that support maximum scope of practice and optimisation of contemporary models of care. Support the Executive Director, RBWH in fulfilling accountabilities and responsibilities through engagement of the medical workforce in delivering on RBWH Strategies and Plans and work with fellow professional workforce leads to ensure an interdisciplinary approach to education, training and professional development.

About the Role

  • Champion and role model a culture across RBWH that delivers professional excellence, personal commitment, safety and wellbeing and efficient patient centred service.
  • Effectively manage people, financial and physical resources of Medical Services underpinned by a culture of performance measurement, continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Provide clear strategic and operational leadership of the Centre for Medical Officer Recruitment and Education (CMORE).
  • Provide RBWH business continuity, emergency and disaster management systems and processes to deliver organisational resilience and emergency/disaster preparedness.
  • Act as the expert resource for clinician leaders and executives in resolving complex, clinical, medico-legal, ethical and operational challenges.
