Deputy Director of Medical Services

The Deputy Director of Medical Services reports to the Executive Director/Director of Medical Services. In conjunction with the Executive Director/Director of Medical Services and the Service Line Directors is responsible for ensuring that the medical services provided by the Caboolture and Kilcoy Hospitals and Woodford Corrections Health Service are delivered to the highest professional and ethical standards. The position is a member of the Hospital’s Executive Team.

About the Role

• Provide expect advice and direction to clinical leaders and executives in resolving complex, clinical, medico-legal, ethical and operational challenges.
• Oversee processes that attract and retain the medical workforce: recruitment, appointment commencement, induction, credential and define scope of practice, and roster and to ensure that staff have a clear understanding of role accountabilities, governance systems and culture.
• Provide leadership, direction and development of the safety, quality and patient experience services to Caboolture, Kilcoy and Woodford Directorate including Patient Flow.
• Ensure that programs are in place that develop the teaching and clinical supervision skills of individuals within the facility to support continuity in the organisation’s ability to effectively train and teach medical staff.
