Coffs Harbour is a vibrant regional city located on the north coast of NSW, mid-way between Sydney and Brisbane. Coffs Harbour Health Campus is seeking to employ a Staff Specialist Deputy Director Medical service. Reporting to the Coffs Clinical Network (CCN) Clinical Director of Medicine and General Manager, the Staff Specialist will be responsible for enabling the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of medical services. Primarily at Coffs Harbour Health Campus, but potential elsewhere in the Coffs Clinical Network.

About the Role

Reporting to the Coffs Clinical Network (CCN) Director of Medical Services and General Manager, the Staff Specialist will be responsible for enabling the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of medical services. Primarily at Coffs Harbour Health Campus, but potential elsewhere in the Coffs Clinical Network.

About You

Selection Criteria

  1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a specialist medical practitioner, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
  2. Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators or other appropriate specialist recognition as provided for in the Staff Specialist (State) Award that is additionally supported by experience in management in Health Services.
  3. Demonstrated experience of clinical leadership and management at a senior level inclusive of medical administration, medical workforce, professional practice, clinical governance, medical ethics, clinical teaching and leadership and change management, including managing health financial, activity and reporting systems.
  4. Sound knowledge of contemporary health issues, rural healthcare priorities and reform agendas within the NSW Health system.
  5. Demonstrated high level interpersonal communication (both verbal and written) and negotiation skills at all levels of the organisation.
  6. Knowledge, understanding and commitment to EEO, ethical practice, Aboriginal Health, and other relevant statements and priorities as they relate to the position
  7. Hold a current Drivers Licence and the ability to travel regularly for work purposes.
