Rare Leadership Opportunity

The Australian Medical Association Queensland (AMAQ) is seeking an exceptional individual to lead this key
membership organisation which serves to represent the interests of medical practitioners and students across
Queensland.

Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer will assume full responsibility for the operational leadership of
this organisation which offers service delivery and advice as well as highly effective advocacy. You will lead the
strategic planning in order to deliver a commercially sustainable future for AMAQ, ensuring it continues to play its
key role within the Queensland health system.

Key competencies include:

• Demonstrated track record of leadership of an organisation of comparable complexity.
• A keen understanding and passion for health policy with experience working at a senior level within the
  health system being highly advantageous.
• Leadership experience within a membership organisation would be highly regarded.
• Exceptional team leadership and stakeholder/membership management skills.
• Ability to undertake high-level representation in matters relating to industrial relations and health advocacy.
• Demonstrated capacity to think strategically.
• Demonstrated track record of commercial leadership in order to develop new revenue streams.
