Following Dr Peter Lowthian’s decision to step down as Censor in Chief from January 2023, the RACMA Board is now seeking expressions of interest from Fellows of the College to facilitate an appropriate handover and ensure a smooth transition to the new Censor in Chief. 

The Censor in Chief is one of the College’s critical leadership roles – chairing the Board of Censors and overseeing College assessments, including examinations.

With the assistance of the Board of Censors, the Censor in Chief oversees the alignment of the Assessment Framework with the Curriculum in the RACMA Fellowship Training Program. The role is a nominated non-directorial Office Bearer constitutional position of RACMA which reports through the Chair Education and Training Committee to the Board.

Selection Criteria
You will be a senior RACMA Fellow with experience in the Fellowship Training Program and an interest in medical education and assessment. You will be available to attend and oversee College examinations, Board of Censor workshops as well as attend RACMA Board meetings.

Please provide a written expression of interest for the role detailing your interest in applying and your experience and expertise, including some specific examples. The EOI must be accompanied by a current Curriculum Vitae and emailed to careers@racma.edu.au by COB Monday 31 October 2022.

Once EOI’s are received an interview process will take place and the successful applicant will be notified before the College Trial Examination period starts on 17 November 2022.
