Rights and Privileges of Members of the College

Purpose 



The purpose of this regulation is to outline the rights and privileges of Members of the College as described in article 5.16 of the College Constitution. 



Rights of Members 



Subject to any rights or restrictions applicable to any Members or class of Members:

  • A Fellow has the right to receive notices of and attend, be heard and vote at any general meeting, nominate a person for Honorary Fellowship and nominate a Fellow for Directorship of the College and, subject to clauses 11.5 to 11.9 of the Constitution, is eligible to be elected or appointed as a Director or Officeholder of the College.
  • An Honorary Fellow has the right to receive notices of and attend and be heard at any general meeting but does not have the right to vote at any general meeting, nominate any person for Honorary Fellowship or Directorship of the College or be elected or appointed as a Director or Officeholder of the College.
  • Affiliate has the right to receive notices of and attend and be heard at any general meeting but does not have the right to vote at any general meeting, nominate any person for Honorary Fellowship or Directorship of the College or be elected or appointed as a Director or Officeholder of the College
  • An Associate Fellow or Candidate has the right to receive notices of and attend and be heard at any general meeting but does not have the right to nominate any person for Honorary Fellowship or be appointed as an Officeholder of the College. Under clauses 11.1.3 and 11.1.4 of the Constitution an Associate Fellow or Candidate may:
    • nominate any person for Directorship of the College;
    • be elected or appointed as a Director of the College; or
    • vote at any general meeting.


Use of Post-Nominals 

Under clauses 15.16.4 – 15.16.7 of the Constitution:

  • A Fellow has the right to use the title “Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators” and the post-nominals “FRACMA”.
  • An Associate Fellow has the right to use the title “Associate Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators” and the post-nominals “AFRACMA”.
  • An Honorary Fellow has the right to use the title “Honorary Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators” and the post-nominals “FRACMA (Hon)”.
  • Candidates and Affiliates have no right to use any post-nominals identifying their affiliation with the College.


Rights of Inspection 

Subject to the Corporations Act, the Board may determine whether and to what extent, and at what times and places and under what conditions, the accounting records and other documents of the College or any of them are open to the inspection of Members other than Directors. A Member, other than a Director, does not have the right to inspect any document of the College except as provided by law or authorised by the Board of by the College in general meeting.
