Please be aware that the MyRACMA system will be unavailable on Tuesday 2nd April at 07:00 (AEDT) as we will be performing scheduled maintenance. We anticipate a downtime of 30 minutes.

The first national Medical Training Survey (MTS) results have been released. The survey was developed to build an evidence base we can learn from to strengthen medical education in Australia and improve workplace culture.

The survey, which attracted almost 10,000 responses (27 per cent of all doctors in training across Australia) has given trainees a collective voice for educators, training sites and stakeholders to listen to and act upon. This provides a strong foundation for years to come and has triggered ideas and discussion for improvement.

The data collected highlights Australia’s world class medical education system and describes the culture and quality of medical training from a trainee’s perspective. The information provides comprehensive feedback for educators, training sites and stakeholders to better understand the strengths and weaknesses in medical education and employment to create a better experience for doctors in training.

While there were some positive results for our College, there are areas where RACMA can improve its interaction with Candidates and their training sites and within the College. To view RACMA’s report based on our Candidate’s responses CLICK HERE. The report provides a comparison with national data, however there are some areas where there was no specific data to the College provided as there were less than 10 responses received.

Visit https://www.medicaltrainingsurvey.gov.au/ to explore all aspects of the survey results and customise your own reports.

All members in each College play an important role in the experience that all Specialist College Candidates have in the workplace as medical leaders, supervisors, preceptors and College facility members. RACMA will work with our Candidates, leaders and members on the areas where our College can improve its work with Candidates and their employers, and within the College.

RACMA encourages all Candidates to participate in future surveys in order to ensure the College keeps improving and enhancing its programs to deliver the best training possible.
