St George’s Hospital is one of the largest private hospitals in New Zealand and one of the most modern in terms of equipment and technology. Registered as a surgical, medical and maternity hospital, it caters for the following specialties: Cancer treatment, Cardiology and Cardiothoracic, Dental and Oral (oral and maxillofacial), ENT (Otolaryngology), Eyes (Ophthalmology), General (bariatric, breast, colorectal, endoscopy, vascular), Neurosurgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Orthopaedic, Paediatric, Plastic (Reconstructive, Cosmetic) and Urology.

St George’s is now inviting applications for the newly created position of General Manager Strategic Development and are seeking a dynamic individual to join the hospital’s Executive Management Team and provide 
high level support to the Chief Executive Officer.  As a member of the Executive Management Team, you will contribute to the overall strategic direction of the Hospital, provide strong leadership, vision and strategic management. 

Primary objectives 
for this position include evaluating and implementing new business opportunities and leading the implementation of projects that support the delivery of the organisation’s strategic vision and growth. Key to this will be developing and maintaining strong mutually advantageous relationships/partnerships with surgeons/clinicians and others in the healthcare industry towards identifying opportunities for mutual growth and partnerships.

St George’s Hospital is seeking a high-performing leader with significant experience in a senior management role, ideally from within the private health sector. Your experience will include strategic planning, budget management, stakeholder engagement and relationship management, coupled with the 
co-ordination of people, processes and resourcing.  You will also possess a demonstrated ability to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to develop strategy, plan and implement it, and track and report progress.  You will have a proven track record of leading innovation and successfully developing and integrating new business streams into the wider organisation.
