Job Description Are you looking for a senior leadership role where you can establish yourself within the networks of NSW Health with long term career prospects?

We are taking expressions of interest from innovative Medical Administrators who have the ability to plan, develop and implement medical workforce models which meet local needs. This is an exciting, hands-on, operational & strategic role presenting you with the opportunity to make a lasting difference to the service delivery of this region.

Key Benefits

• Excellent salary package
• Attractive relocation allowance
• Opportunity to provide strategic and innovative solutions
• Establish yourself in a senior leadership role with NSW Health
• Enjoy a peaceful lifestyle away from major metropolitan cities

The Opportunity

The Executive Director of Medical Services (EDMS) will report to and work in partnership with the Chief Executive to develop and implement strategies to support a stable medical workforce designed to suit the needs of the population across the Far West Local Health District (FWLHD) including Broken Hill Health Service in New South Wales.

Collaboration with key local and external stakeholders will be required to develop suitable medical workforce models for the LHD and to promote the training and ongoing development of the medical workforce.

You will be actively involved in the oversight of all medical staff and medical clinical activity and will play a key leadership role in continuous quality improvement, clinical governance, and budget management.

This is a welcoming hospital community and the EDMS will join a supportive and dynamic team including the General Manager and LHD executives in working to ensure the achievement of state-wide strategies.

You will liaise regularly with senior health leaders at NSW Health and NSW Health’s Health Education and Training Institute (HETI), in the implementation of state-wide strategies to improve service delivery.

Keys to success

You will be a strong team player and will encourage engagement, communication, collaboration, and collegiate relationships with a multidisciplinary approach to ensure the best possible service is delivered.

You will demonstrate high-level communication skills and be adept at building new, and developing existing, relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally. Demonstrated ability to provide strategic direction and clinical governance; and the ability to contribute in a hands-on management role will be highly regarded.

Ideally you will hold FRACMA, however another medical specialist qualification with an Australasian college combined with leadership experience in medical administration would also be considered. In either case, you must hold or be eligible for specialist registration with AHPRA.
