Leadership and Management Professional Development Scholarship for Tasmanian Doctors Print E-mail
Doctors currently employed in the Tasmanian Health Service, including Associate Fellows, are invited to apply for a limited pool of scholarship funding that has been provisioned for participation in a range of leadership and management professional development courses delivered by the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA).

There are ten (10) x $6,000 scholarships available to access RACMA leadership and management professional development programs:

Leadership for Clinicians Program – a 12 month program for doctors who want to improve their management and leadership skills. Modules include, clinical governance and workforce, medical leadership, finance and strategy for future medical leaders.  Pending eligibility, completion of this program will lead to the award of Associate Fellowship.

Please Note: The Leadership for Clinicians Program has entry pre-requisites, please be aware of these requirements before submitting an EOI for a scholarship for this program.

Management for Clinicians Program  – a two day program aimed at doctors involved or interested in leadership and management in the health care setting.

RACMA Skills Labs – a collection of half to full day workshops to develop practical skills for medical managers.  The Skills Labs are suited to clinical team leaders, new medical managers and clinical department heads.  Skills labs will be delivered during the RACMA Spring Professional Development Forum.

RACMA Seasonal Professional Development Forums  – Practical, interactive professional development workshops designed for medical leaders and managers and accredited by RACMA.  Learn from top international and Australian educators and experts. Select from a range of options relevant to your scope of practice and professional development needs. http://www.racmacme.com.au/

CPD points will be awarded for each program.

Selection Criteria
  • Doctors must be living and working in Tasmania
  • Doctors must be registered to practice in Tasmania (AHPRA)
  • Scholarship funds must be used in 2017
  • Scholarship funds can only be allocated against one of the above options.

The Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators has received Australian Government funding under the Specialist Training Program, Training More Specialist Doctors in Tasmania project.
