Accreditation of Training Post
The College accredits training posts within health service training organisations by assessing workplace information in an application form and confirming details at an accreditation site visit. Assessment includes supervision, infrastructure, support services and a comparison of the workplace experiential opportunities offered by the organisation against the competency requirements of the Fellowship Training Program.

Accreditation of training posts is to ensure continuous quality assurance in the delivery of the RACMA Fellowship Training Program. Accreditation requires joint governance with training organisations to ensure compliance with training standards, with both parties concentrating on educational outcomes and continuous quality improvement. An evaluation framework, mapped against the College’s curriculum, will identify any deficiencies and minimise variation in the quality of training across training organisations and posts. Accreditation will contribute to enhancing the skills and ability of all College candidates by improving the link between medical specialist training and improved patient outcomes.
It is acknowledged that the breadth of workplace experiential opportunities may not be available at all health settings increasing the importance of collaboration across the College membership and health networks to enable exposure to such experiences to satisfy training program competencies.
Current RACMA Candidates
Candidates who change their training post or employer/training organisation whilst still a Candidate in the RACMA Fellowship Training Program must have this new training post accredited by the College, if it is not already an accredited training post. RACMA will be able to confirm which training posts are currently accredited.
The employer/training organisation must complete the Accreditation of Training Post Form, available below. Ensure your training post is accredited by the College, if a training post is not accredited, Candidates may risk this time not being counted towards their RACMA Fellowship training.
