The Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators
The College was founded in 1967 as the Australian College of Medical Administrators and attained its Royal Prefix in 1978. In August, 1998 when links with New Zealand were formally established, the College changed its name to The Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators. The College when first established had the aim of promoting and advancing the study of health services administration by medical practitioners. Profound changes in health administration have occurred since that time, but the need for competent well-trained health sector managers has not diminished.
