RACMA welcomed a group of Associate CEOs and Chief Doctors from 17 Beijing hospitals for a tour of the College establishment.

On Tuesday the 12th of April, RACMA welcomed a group of Associate CEOs and Chief Doctors from 17 Beijing hospitals for a tour of the College establishment. The visitors were in Melbourne to learn more about the Australian healthcare system, healthcare funding, hospital administration, and hospital/patient relations.

Funded by Beijing Health Bureau and hosted by Monash University’s China Research Program, the visitors were based at Monash University’s Gippsland Campus but managed to fit in visits to Cabrini Health, Monash Medical Centre and the Department of Health. During their visit to the RACMA national office, Dr Lee Gruner gave a presentation about the College and our training programs and also gave an outline of the Australian Healthcare system, with the help of an excellent interpreter. The visitors were very interested and enthusiastic and kept Dr Gruner, Dr Erwin Loh and the interpreter very busy during question time.

Gifts were exchanged and then the guests were introduced to the great Australian lamington during afternoon tea, a delicacy they were less enthusiastic about. Feedback from the session was very positive and the visitors were keen to continue an association with the College into the future.

Thanks to Doctors Gruner and Loh for representing our Fellows and painting the College in such a positive light.
